Overview

Welcome to the Coaching pages. We hope you will find this site a useful resource for developing your coaching plans and researching new skills and tips. The Player Pathway page provides a guideline for the types of skills  you should be focussing on per age group and the coaching resources is a central repository of existing resources creates by various coaching experts. We have also outlined our child protection requirements which are mandatory for all coaches.

Every GAA club has a responsibility to accept and implement the GAA’s Code of Practice. All our coaches are expected to be (1) Garda vetted (2) Receive training in respect to child safeguarding and (3) complete foundation level coaching course. However we aim to go above an beyond to support and train our club coaches.

A Coaching & Development committee was established in 2013 as part of our club strategy entitled “Embracing Our Future”. The Committee set about to improve the overall coaching standard in the club and have coordinated a number of seminars to support our members. In February 2020 the committee launched the Player Pathway which is outlined on this website.

Our Mission

Kevin’s are committed to ensuring that all our juvenile teams are as competitive as possible, but also that each player is constantly learning and that they will be in a better place when progressing to the next age level, all of this with the intention of ensuring each player can reach their full potential throughout their underage careers. By devising and developing our own ‘’Young Player Pathway’’ we are creating the environment so that all our young players ‘’Play and Stay’’ with Kevin’s Hurling and Camogie Club, not only for their playing careers but throughout their lives.
