G.A.A. Rounders was initially started as a healthy club activity in 2019 with the intention of encouraging parents to participate. We played a few friendly games and entered into a couple of novice tournaments in Tymon Park. In 2020 we decided to enter an adult mixed team into the G.A.A. Rounders intermediate grade All-Ireland competition and introduced our underage teams to the game when training sessions were restricted due to COVID-19.
What’s the plan for 2021? We intend to enter an adults team into the All-Ireland Mixed tournament again this year and if there is enough interest we will enter into the men’s and ladies tournaments also. We are also working with other clubs in Dublin via the Dublin G.A.A. Health & Well-being Committee to develop a social league local to Dublin. We have also created a working group to expand participation at underage level and will focus on 11-13 year old boys and girls. New members are welcome and we promise not to force you to play hurling, or camogie if you join.
