We Are Back Up And Running

We are back up and running for our 124th year of promoting Gaelic games in the south city! Some teams trained and some travelled to Rathcoole, the GAA National Development Centre and Howth to play pre-season challenges, with more to come next week. Our ABC Nursery returns next week and our Under 8 hurlers and camógs will be playing a blitz with neighbours Crumlin and St James Gaels in Bunting Park, while our Under 9 camógs will be hosting in Loreto College.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported our children over the years. Pictured are our Under 13 hurlers who were wearing their KYP sponsored jersies today in Abbotstown, thanks to the generosity of former senior hurler Alan Nagle.

If you are interested in contributing as a player, mentor or a supporter get in touch. We also have some open roles to fill including Club PRO.

Our Coaching & Development Committee organised a very successful mentorship night in Lowes of Dolphins Barn last Friday. Led by Donal Dowling, mentors from each team gathered to provide feedback and advice to the teams below them (in age) and ask question of the teams above them.

We have more than just hurling and camogie going on with plenty of off field activities to support the local community. Our Healthy Club Officer has been very busy over the past few weeks running cardiac screening and a very informative talk on Domestic & Sexual Gender-Based Violence. Enda Macken (Longford Football) and Oisín McManus (Down Hurling) from Movember GAA called in to talk to our younger members about mental health.

Our underage handballers meet every Friday in TK2 Charlemont St and last Friday night we had a father/son V father/son show down. We are looking forward to seeing our primary school players participate in the upcoming Cumann na mBunscoil event on the 30th January.

Our Christmas Tree volunteers were doing plenty of old school pre-season strength and conditioning training collecting and mulching trees from our happy customers. Our Christmas Tree fund raiser is a key source of income for the club and our volunteers do an amazing job!
