Deadly Davin’s Win The League

The season is not over yet! we still have a few teams in action before year end and the big news of the week is that our Under 13 Davin’s squad have won their league!

Kevins travelled to local neighbours Ranelagh Gaels to play their final game of the league. A win for Kevins would almost secure the title but were depending on other results also but the in form Kevins squad were confident as their opponents were in the bottom half of the table. However, in a cruel twist of faith, the Ranelagh boys rallied early in the second half with a burst of 3 goals to beat Kevins 5-2 to 3-1.  Thomas Davis then beat Wanderers and St Jude’s beat Na Fianna setting up a 4 way tie at the top of the table. However, Kevins had beaten all teams who were on level points and also had a stronger score difference. As we awaited confirmation from the Dublin County Board, selector and club legend Kevin “John Boss” Daly headed off to a secluded forest in the midlands to avoid media attention and despite been tracked down by club PRO refused to be drawn on the speculation. However, as news has now broken about the success of the Davin’s we will be expecting a full interview … with the new PRO 🙂

Well done to all the mentors, players, sponsors and supporting parents who contributed to the success of the under 13 panel and 2 squads. At the start of the season the main aim was to ensure every boy hurled, as much as possible and a decision was made to field two teams. The Cusack’s also performed well in Division 2 having been promoted last year. We are all looking forward to seeing this group develop further in 2024!

Overall it’s been a really good year with the Roll of Honour Page being updated frequently in recent months. You can check it out here.
