We Are Back With A Bang!

Our successful Under 19 hurlers from 2022 kicked off the week-end with a medal presentation in the Lower Deck on Friday night. It was business as usual at 9am on Saturday morning with our Kevin’s Heroes and Donore Credit Union ABC Nursery in Loreto College. Our teams were also training or playing pre-season games.

Both of our Under 16 squads were in pre-season action today. Our hurlers played Trinity Gaels and our camógs travelled to Drimnagh for a local derby against our neighbours Good Counsel. Both sides put in a good performance. We are awaiting camogie fixtures, but our hurlers are starting their 2023 campaign on the 25th

Our under 12 camogie squad were invited to play in a pre-season blitz with Faughs and Na Fianna (Enfield, Co. Meath). The girls had a great morning in Templeogue College. You can check out their progress here.

Our adult rounders squads meet tomorrow at 2pm in Loreto College in advance of their Social Rounders game against Na Fianna next Saturday. We have a big weekend coming up with teams returning to games. Check out the Go Games hurling fixtures here and our Under 13 – Adult hurling fixtures here.

We are also working on a Healthy Handball initiative with Brian Boru Handball Club. Commencing on Friday the 24th February we will be running a 3 week series of Healthy Handball in the Charlemont St Sports Hall. Children aged 10-11 will have the opportunity to try handball from 6.30 – 7.30 pm and adults will commence at 7.30 pm. Please contact us to register via our email pro.kevins.dublin@gaa.ie.

Many thanks to our Coaching & Development (C&D) committee who organised a workshop earlier in the week. Thanks to everyone that gave their time and attended. The C&D will break all the teams into 3 sections they will be broke into CCC1 CCC2 and CCC3. Your team will be added into a new WhatsApp group  according to your team age group. Those new groups in the near future will have a more detailed meeting with the C&D to create the year planner for the rest of the year. What we would like to see now is each team nominate a head coach/mentor. So its easier for communication from C&D to the teams.

Finally we would like to congratulate Louise Tuite on her recent appointment as Juvenile Chairperson. Louise has been involved with the current Under 16 hurlers and brings a wealth of experience to role.
