November Cup Finale

We topped off a great Under 12 hurling season on Saturday with a November Cup Blitz, only three days before our 120th birthday! We had six teams enter including Crumlin, Na Gaeil Óga, Ranelagh Gaels, Ballinteer St Johns and Kevin’s (two teams). We ran a Shield and Plate competition. Kevin’s had a team entered in each competition, with players from U12s camogie team and U11s hurlers mixing in with Under 12s. In what must be a club record we also had 4 sets of twins play for Kevins on the day. There was some great hurling on show in both competitions with Kevin’s coming from behind to pip Ballinteer Saint Johns in the Shield final. Tadhg Murphy was given the honour of lifting the cup. A fitting tribute for the Drimnagh Castle past pupil! Our close neighbours Crumlin took the Plate home beating Kevin’s and Na Gaeil Óga.

Many thanks to St James Gaels and Drimnagh Castle School who made their pitches available to us and were a great help in organizing the event. A number of boys joined us at the start of the season from St James Gaels and there is good cross over between the two clubs at this particular age bracket and we appreciate the partnership.
