Geraldine O’Leary Memorial Cup

Our Under 10 camogie squad welcome Ranelagh Gaels to Dolphin Park tomorrow morning in the Geraldine O’Leary Cup. Throw in is at 10am.

A proud Galway woman, Geraldine O’ Leary joined the club in the early 1990’s when the camogie section was established and her daughters Glenda, Cara, Zara and Astra started playing in the local St Clare’s school. Living locally on Glenealy Road she was one of the many parents who rolled up her sleeves and took an active interest in the establishment of camogie in Dublin’s south inner city. Always in great spirits and available to volunteer, whether it was a fund raiser, or running a tournament. She was a familiar face not just in Kevin’s but also as a result of her many community activities.

Many of the girls in Dublin’s south inner City are playing sport today because of Geraldine’s contribution and she would be delighted to hear that previous winners of this tournament include the current under 14 champions. Tomorrow’s game is a fitting tribute to a true Kevin’s legend!
