Best of luck to Francis Street C.B.S who made it into the senior schools final, playing against Scoil Divine Word, this coming Tuesday the 8th of May in Croke Park at 11.45am. It will be 30 years (this year) since the school has reached the final. The team is led by Mr. Peter Burke and have 9 Kevin's hurlers.
Current club hurler and "Big Daddy" of the senior squad, Emmet Mahoney attended the school 30 years ago and was delighted to hear that his alma mater has returned where they were most comfortable. Although, he said he has no plans to rename his daughter Francesca if the lads win. Emmet claims he was on the last team, but that would make him about 40 ... or else the talented Mahoney was only 7 when he togged out in that senior final. Some of Kevin's other legendary hurlers who attended Franner and represented the club at county level include club chairman Tommy Daly, Andy Doyle and Joey Dalton. Fran Ryan also attended the school and was a very good hurler.
